Hi guys!
I just wrote a small plasmoid which counts events in a calendar, which I find quiet handy for finding out how much days off you can take from work. I wrote this plasmoid in c++ simply because that's where I found most examples on how to program plasmoids. However, I now believe that a script language might have been a much better idea (distributing is simpler that way) however, I do not really know, which the recommended way of making plasmoids is. Should I use JavaScript + qml, python or even another language? My problem is that I do not know, which Apis are available for which language and how to use them there, for instant for the plasmoid I was talking about I need kdepim (akonadi) - how can I use this in JavaScript, are there any tutorials on this? Cheers |

I believe the recommended language is Javascript, using QML ideally. As for accessing Akonadi data - I think there is a Plasma Data Engine which allows you to access this information.
