Hi there,
at the moment I am working on a KDE GUI combined with OGRE (http://ogre3d.org) so I was wondering if KDE has any API (maybe in solid or somewhere) to access information about available screen resolutions and outputs. Besides OpenGL/render system information would be great. As far as I know OGRE doesn't have these features, so you need predefined config files or change settings manually in code. Qt API functions would be even better than KDE but since I use the kdelibs API definitely, it doesn't really matter. Maybe someone knows a project which auto detects available render systems for OGRE, as well. Probably Qt and KDE do only provide OpenGL support (which I do prefer btw.) but OGRE's power comes from its abstraction and plugins for different render systems. Therefore it would be great to have some more auto detection features for a nice cross platform 3D application. Any help is appreciated! |
