Which part of KDE are you interested in? Any particular application, the workspace, the underlying libraries?

I too am a student and would like to volunteer.
Although I am new on the forum I am not new to KDE and the experience would be a very good entry in my curriculum. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I don't try to be a threat to Microsoft, mainly because I don't really see MS as competition. You should look for a project you're interested in and fix a bug or implement a feature there, then submit a patch to reviewboard.kde.org to get it applied to the project.
If you have concrete problems on how to get started, feel free to ask here or in the project's IRC channel. Cheers, Sven
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.
