I want to build an application which uses akonadi resources. I can't find any info on achieving this using java.
Is such a thing possible at all?

From what I remember, Akonadi was intended to be freely accessible outside Qt/C++. My recommendation would be to ask those who have worked on Akonadi itself - by sending an email to kde-pim@kde.org.
