how to compile kde-workspace

Thu Jan 02, 2014 4:24 pm
I wanted to add a nvml support to ksysguard (nvml is a library from nvidia for monitoring an nvidia card), so I cloned the kde-workspace git. But I have problems compiling it. I've followed this manual http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tut ... pplication

But running make I get this error message:

Code: Select all
CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:58 (find_package):
Could not find a package configuration file provided by "KF5" with any of
  the following names:

    KF5Config.cmake
    kf5-config.cmake

Add the installation prefix of "KF5" to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH or set "KF5_DIR"
to a directory containing one of the above files.  If "KF5" provides a
separate development package or SDK, be sure it has been installed.

-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!

What to do? Please have mercy with me, I'm not a very experienced programmer, I'm just a pupil with to much time.

The master branch of kde-workspace is currently focused on development for KDE Frameworks, which is based on Qt 5. I suggest you try compiling the KDE/4.11 branch instead.
