I want to analyze some part of KMail. To do this, I want to compile it from source to be able to debug it properly. I've tried building it on Kubuntu 16.04 by using the kdepim source code in the official git repository in the Applications/16.04 branch. I installed a bunch of dev packages that cmake complained about but gave up at some point when some package versions didn't match. Using the kdesrc-build tool also didn't work for me and I have the feeling that some of the available information is outdated. I'm not sure how to correctly configure it to build KMail/kdepim.

Could someone tell me the recommended way to build KMail (or kdepim) from source? I'd appreciate it very much.
