Log file locations

Sat Oct 22, 2016 1:21 pm
Hello,

I'm trying to debug KRunner and Plasma Shell crashing problems on my KDE 5.x installation on Debian Testing, however I'm unable to find the relevant log files. Can anyone direct me to correct location? :-\

Thanks in advance.

Was wondering about that myself. I guess you need to look in the system log. I'm on Kubuntu 16.04, so I have systemd (it's also in Debian, right?), which makes me check the logs with
Code: Select all
journalctl -f | grep --line-buffered kde
.

I understand this was asked a long time ago, but since I've googled my way here, then others probably will as well.

Hey, thanks for the answer. Since I'm coming from the old times (pre-systemd), I was always looking for a file or a directory.

Thanks again,

Hakan

P.S.: You're right about that other googlers. :)
