I've run into similar problems trying to fix a couple issues i'd been having with the kdesvn kio slaves.
I found https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_an ... g_IOSlaves to be a useful resource.
A quick search also highlights: https://community.kde.org/KDE/FAQs/Tech ... _use_it.3F which mentions that you need to restart kdeinit and kill the running kioslave, so that a new one is started.
