Hello,
I know you can swap the Control and Caps Lock keys using the KDE GUI. I know you can do it from the command line, using xmodmap and the like. See viewtopic.php?t=88062 .

However, I want to swap Control and Caps Lock programmatically, through KDE. I feel like performing an xmodmap or setxkbmap may be sort of undercutting KDE. That is, doing something at a lower level in X-Windows that will get it out of sync with KDE.

Is there such an API call, or does KDE simply call xmodmap in any event?

Thanks.
