Hi I'm trying to see if I can get tiddlywiki to work with Konqueror(4.1.2 on Kubuntu 8.10). If it is possible to save files that's really great and the hack for that will be appreciated.
Can you please tell me where the documentation for javascript support for Konqueror is located ? If there are any code samples on how to load and save files via javascript that would be perfect thanks in advance

You could ask on the kfm-devel mailinglist where most of the Konqueror/KHTML related development dicussion take place, though I would be quite surprised if a script would ever have access to the local file system. Actually I would be surprised if any browser would allow such an out-of-sandbox access. Cheers, _

I quite agree, so long as access occurs via http:/https: to and from a web site. However, access to an HTML file occurring via file: may well be a different story.
Stand-alone, locally-accessed ECMAScript programs are not unthinkable. It'd be real convenient to read and write config and settings files, and write output files; it's truly inconvenient to demand the user open her settings file in an editor, copy the whole thing, then paste it into the app, and just as inconvenient to demand the user generate his output, select and copy it all, open an editor, paste the output into it, and save it to a file. Konqueror is already a file manager that can read and write 'local' files. Shoot, it can even read and write files across CIFS. I would think it can tell the difference between a locally-accessed HTML file and one accessed via a web server on a network somewhere. Lest someone fire out of battery, there is no web site, web server or even any network access taking place in my app when it is accessed locally. ECMAScript and HTML were simply a convenient way to build the GUI I need. |

Hi vikram, did you succeed? I just found out about TiddlyWiki and was immediately frustrated that the browser of my choice is not supported ![]() Thanks, M |
