Hi,
I've been asked to decode the KDE framework licensing for a commercial product now in development. I am not a lawyer. I'm trying to understand the licensing for the networkmanager-qt framework found at https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/networkmanager-qt In the LICENSES directory there are copies of license templates for
And in the individual source code files the headers include:
Finally, https://develop.kde.org/products/frameworks/ has the text
So can we conclude that the networkmanager-qt framework is available under the LGPL-2.1 or LGPL-3.0 license? What exactly is the the "KDE Accepted LGPL" license?
Does not define KDE e.V. If anyone has any suggestions as to where else I should seek insight, please let me know. |

You should write to the KDE e.V. board for this kind of question, the forum is meant for user support only: kde-ev-board@kde.org
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
