I'm trying to work through the plasma tutorial here:

Lines 46-48 of plasma-tutorial1.cpp are as follows:

    m_svg.resize((int)contentsRect.width(), (int)contentsRect.height());
    m_svg.paint(p, (int)contentsRect.left(), (int)contentsRect.top());

The thing is, to get the results described in the tutorial, these don't seem to be necessary. Leaving them in (and commenting out drawing of the icon) results in a small black box and green dot being displayed (ie. that appears to be what those lines are drawing). Commenting those lines out shows the expected result (icon on widget background with text).

Can someone explain what's going on here? I'm on Kubuntu 8.10, KDE 4.2.1.
