Hi I have some images, jpg, taken with my compactcamera, that almost only Dolphin and Gwenview are abel to display/detect. Digikam and the kde opendialog among others are not able to find them. Who can I send some pictures to?

The whitespaces (" ") and brackets ("()") could cause these problems (and maybe the "ø").

Could be, but shouldn't. I have plenty of files (photos and others) named in such a way without problems. IF it's indeed a character problem, it sounds like jerik's system is using a locale setting that can't handle them.

Im running Arch linux, so maby I've done something wrong setting it up:
from my rc.conf:
But, I think my locales are ok And, I do also have hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures with spaces, "(", ")" and æ,ø,å's |

I believe the "file" command in Konsole, with the file name as an argument will provide this information.

There should be no reason why the files are not displayed then. If a file dialog is involved, does it display a filter and if so what is it?
