dbus and gdb?

Thu Oct 08, 2009 10:47 pm
hey all,
I'm writing a simple ide for kde, but i'm not sure how to go about sending and getting information from gcc and gdb. i've tried looking all over but i guess i'm really not sure what i should be looking for. I'm thinking that i should use dbus, but i don't really understand services even though i've been snooping through the documentation. Is there a way to start a program from within another program?
thanks

You can use QProcess to launch, interact with and monitor other applications from a Qt application.
