How to switch language.

Sun Jan 17, 2010 7:46 pm
I made translation to my app, installed mo file in system, and now in list of Switch Application Language dialog I see new language, Russian. When I select Russian dialog appears that next time I launch app it would be in Russian. But this doesn't happen. What's the matter?

Do you have the kde language "ru" installed?

Is your mo file in the folder `kde4-config --install locale`/ru/LC_MESSAGES?

mo file is in is /usr/local/share/locale/ru/LC_MESSAGES/ . I believe this is the right place. I used messages.sh and cmake installation script from kde techbase. Russian appeared in list after I installed mo file, before was only american english. So program can find it I think. Maybe something wrong with the mo file? I simply used .pot template generated by script.
