Porting Mwmrc to Kwin

Mon Feb 01, 2010 8:55 pm
I'm porting a program from Solaris to Linux. I've got the code and GUI working, however I've run into a snag with the window managers. The application was originally designed such that a click on the leftmost toolbar button would bring up a custom menu. This was defined in an the mwmrc file as follows:

Menu MyWindowMenu
{
"Move" _M f.move
"Ring Bell" _A f.send_msg 1010
"AdminMenu .. " f.menu SuperMenu
"Intensity " _I f.send_msg 1001
"Log out..." f.menu LogoutMenu
}

This is just one simple example - there are a number of these menus (and key bindings) in the mwmrc file.

I've searched the documentation and config files, but there doesn't seem to be any way to translate this to KDE/Kwin. Am I missing something?
If not, is my only option to add buttons and code to the application to handle these functions?
Thanks!

I have never seen a KDE application offering a Window Decoration right click menu. You may wish to contact the KWin developers in #kwin on Freenode.
