I'm an experienced Java developer who is interested in KDE development.
The only problem is that I've never learned C++. Can anybody suggest a good book or tutorial about KDE / C++ programming - what's _not_ for absolute beginners in programming? Thank you! |

I used this: http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial.html#c++tutorial
Note that the command line arguments and File I/O isn't needed too much as Qt completely replaces them. The first 12 lessons are the most important to getting started. When I started, I learned from an online Qt3 book which I can no longer find a link to unfortunately. The following may help for KDE specific development: http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials
KDE Sysadmin

Thank you for the links. I'm reading the book Thinking in C++ because it was under the Prerequisites in the First program tutorial - http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/First_program. I'll take a look to the C++ tutorials. I hope it'll be enough to learn the syntax and differences between Java and C++. |
