I am trying to compile Digikam to resolve a bug (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230401). It's all very new to me so I'm finding my way thanks to existing instructions (http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started ... E4/Windows). However, during the build process, I had the following problem:
I don't know why, but I can't seem to get the source for this package. What am I doing wrong, or what are the workarounds? |

It looks like it failed to download the source from the libssh website correctly. I suggest you ask on the kde-windows@kde.org mailing list if you do not get a response here.
To try to workaround the issue, download the following and extract its contents into C:\Treasure island\Wintel\KDE\svn-src\libssh-src http://www.libssh.org/files/libssh-0.4.2.tar.gz This is probably a bug in the Emerge script, since libssh is hosted using git, not svn.

Thanks. I've been trying to work my head around how emerge works. I'm still at the same point, i.e., no hint of where emerge gets the idea that there should be a libssh-src-20090805 anywhere (whether git or svn). I clearly lack the technical knowledge to find my way around the KDE compiling environment or to learn it from the on-line resources.
The KDE windows mailing list has not been a huge success either, and I've seen some disheartening comments that make me think the whole idea of building Digikam on Windows is not viable: http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-windo ... 04756.html Thanks for the help anyway. At least I can go with my tail between my leg knowing I have tried everything I could. |
