I recently update my sistem from Lucid to Maverick, and everything went sort of well no crash whatsoever, so I was trying to build kmess from the git, but it ask me to install kdelibs5-dev but i had them in Lucid so i try to install them but it keeps on giving me dependencies errors..
then i look it up and found these package kde4libs it suppose to have kdelibs5-dev so i try to install them from these repository "ppa:yofel/off-ppa" so i add it update sources and try to install "sudo apt-get install kde4libs" and i get this "E: Couldn't find package kde4libs" so i kept on reading and i found out these "sudo apt-get build-dep kde4libs" and i get this message ,
so I'm right were i started it's there anything i can do? .. |

maybe not all the updated packages are in the repos just yet? That's what it sounds like.
Then adding an external PPA which may not be fully compatible with the ever-changing Maverick landscape probably isn't helping either I haven't booted to Maverick in a couple days, I will check it out

absolutely no errors here, it installed just fine, along with all it's dependencies.

Yeah several times and still no luck..
this are my sources.list
how did you install it? sudo apt-get install kdelibs5-dev or kde4libs ? what else can I do ? |

I installed kdelibs5-dev, which is the correct package.
kde4libs is a package only used in Hardy, so I don't know why you would be trying to install that - it provides kde 4.0.x libraries in 8.04's KDE 3 environment. Also note that any external repo added via the gui or the add-apt-repository command do not show in the sources.list file, they are found in the /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory as separate files for each added entry.
this error is telling me that kdelibs5 is requiring other packages with the version 4:4.4.92-0ubuntu3, while the version available to you is 4:4.4.92a-0ubuntu1~lucid1~ppa2 Which makes it look like you have some PPA with lucid stuff added. that yofel/off-ppa has nothing KDE related in it at all to begin with, but I do suggest that you remove any added ppa's using KPackageKit, then run update and dist-upgrade again. At this stage I would recommend NOT adding PPA's to Maverick in most cases as 10.10 is still too volatile right now.

have you run
at all? the 4:4.4.92a-0ubuntu1~lucid1~ppa2 packages that are listed to be installed are from Kubuntu's Beta Backports ppa for lucid, so if you have removed all the added repos AND run apt-get update, I cannot tell why this is happening My apt and package-versioning skills are not good, but it could be that 4:4.4.92a-0ubuntu1~lucid1~ppa2 is seen as newer than 4:4.4.92-0ubuntu3 in terms of package-versioning, even though it is from Lucid. This could be why "upgrading" from Lucid to Maverick is not supported right now

As I said, upgrading to Maverick is NOT supported at the moment, it is way to early in the development cycle for it to be safe.
You probably will be OK once a newer KDE version is built for Maverick, which will probably be KDE SC 4.5 final, in a couple of weeks. Once the versioning goes higher than 4.4.92 it should sort itself out.

Problem is fixed I just did sudo aptitude install kdelibs5-dev and in the 2nd solution that offer me was downgrading those lucid packages to maverick and it went smooth no problems whatsoever, thank you claydoh .
