Hello,
I want to make a widget for kde4 plasma desktop, but first before learning all the stuff i want to know what plasma can do, so here are my specific questions: Can i make a plasma widget take all the screen and go over the windows, or at least can i make pop-ups and set em to be fullscreen? In case applets cant do that, is there a work around like calling an exec function from plasma that executes some kind of scripted popup? Thank You. |

What is the particular use case here? I don't think what you are trying to do is supported....

I want to make some sorta of CountDown clock that can take be maximized to fullscreen, usefull when you are performing a task far from the desktop.
and also have an option to popup a fullscreen window when is done so the person who is using it knows the time is over. Thanks for your response. |

I suggest asking on the Plasma Development mailing list ( plasma-devel@kde.org ) to see whether this is possible or not.

I KDE 4.5 you can launch plasma widgets as stand-alone windows. You can then maximize that window. I tried it with simplecountdown and it worked, it may work with others as well.
