Knotify taskbar notification

Sun Jan 30, 2011 5:23 am
Hi,
I was wondering how knotify works when flashing the taskbar (on linux).
It seems it doesn't set the UrgencyHint in the WM_HINT property of the window.
Could someone explain me why not, and what actually happens?
My favorite window manager (ion3, now using notion) handles well the urgency hint, showing a red notification box until the window get focus, while it doesn't handle kde's taskbar flashing at all.
Would it be possible to have an option in the notification settings to make the taskbar notification set the urgency hint?

This is handled by KWindowSystem::demandAttention() in kdelibs I believe. I don't know if the behaviour can be changed however.
