Hi,
I have a simple question about the KDE user interface libraries. KDE seems to be wrapping a lot of widgets without adding any functionality. It seems as if you can write an app only using KDE widget classes but in many cases you could get the same result using Qt widget classes. Shouldn't we actually avoid this to avoid extra dependencies and increase portability? In some cases qguiplatform_kde might even do the trick. So what's the reason? Malte |

The KDE classes usually either add functionality or alter the behaviour to ensure that they follow KDE settings. This can usually be seen if you examine the api documentation, viewable at api.kde.org.
