I built from source kdelibs, kde-workspace, kdevplatform, and kdevelop. The builds seemed to complete successfully.
I used /home/ddoria/bin as the PREFIX for all of them, and did 'make; make install' after running cmake. Then I ran 'kbuildsycoca4' and added 'export KDEDIRS=/home/ddoria/bin' to my .bashrc and then started a new terminal. When I run 'kdevelop', I see the kdevelop splash screen, but also a message box that says "Could not find KTextEditor ::Factory check your installation". Any idea what could be wrong? ktexteditor seems to have been built as part of kdelibs as far as I can tell. Any suggestions? Thanks, David |

You may need to also install Kate.

Awesome, it worked! Shouldn't that be a dependency that is checked for in the CMake?
Also, everything seems to work (I can build my projects), but there are no icons anywhere, so it looks bizarre. Take a look: http://homepages.rpi.edu/~doriad/Upload/Screenshot.png Any thoughts? David |

I install oxygen-icons-4.6.3 from the KDE source package and all is well. This seems like another thing that should be checked for at configure time, I'll report some feature/bug requests.
Thanks for your help! David |
