Hi everybody. I compiled KDE from sources (unstable branch), cloning from git and compiling all necessary. All went fine, but when I tried to run an application (using a ssh session with kde-devel user) I found unreadable characters:

As you can see, characters are very ugly, difficulty readable. It happens also with other KDE apps, even if I try to log in with the kde-devel user. I tried to open systemsettings to adjust font, but there isn't the control module for the selection of fonts. Anybody knows how to solve?

You should have a Font control panel. If you don't, I would advise checking the output of CMake when configuring the various KDE modules. Which ones in particular did you build?

I built qt-kde, all kdesupport projects from git and kdesupport from svn, then kdelibs, kdepimlibs, kde-runtime, kate, konsole, kdesdk and kde-workspace. I follow build instructions step by step. Which CMake output have I to pay attention to, in particular?

That of either kde-runtime or kde-workspace should be the ones most relevant to this.

In the output of kde-runtime module there are a few warnings, but they don't seem to refer to this problem.
Maybe this line in the output of kde-workspace?
Code: Select all
-- Could NOT find Fontconfig  (missing:  FONTCONFIG_LIBRARIES FONTCONFIG_INCLUDE_DIR)

I will try to search for a "fontconfig" package...

You will need the FontConfig development package.
