Linux distro for KDE development

Sun Dec 04, 2011 3:50 pm
Hi all

I have some experience with programming with Qt library and now want to try KDE source hacking. Just for now I'm in doubt of which Linux distro is good for this purposes.

I guess it will be an advantage to have a distro, that uses on of the latest KDE release, isn't it? But for now I'm using Debian 6, which uses pretty old release (4.4.2 as far as I remember).

So I need an advice of someone who has an experience in this issue. May be, someone has an experience with KDE development on Debin. Or, may be, I should switch on another distro. For example, I've found openSUSE is a preferable platform for many developers.

Thank you!
