KDialog change font/simple OSD

Thu Jan 26, 2012 9:32 am
Hallo! I wrote a little shell script. The script does some popup like that:

Code: Select all
kdialog --msgbox "Message"

Is there a way to getter a bigger font for the text "Message"? I tried the option
Code: Select all
--font "arial"
but it didn't work.

What is the best way on KDE to get a popup window using a huge font?

All KDE dialogs use a standardised set of Fonts and their sizes, as specified in the system settings. This can be configured in System Settings > Application Appearance > Fonts. All applications use the same fonts and sizes to ensure consistency between KDE applications.

I found a solution for this. You can use html for that:

Code: Select all
kdialog --msgbox "<font size=7><b>this is a message</b></font>"
