I'm using Neon with plasma 5.7.1, and the one thing I was looking forward to the most is the agenda viewer in the clock widget in the panel. Apparently there's a PIM Events Plugin, but I only have holidays. Can someone tell me how to get this plugin?

Ah, so I'm not the only one who noticed that.
Since the module is missing from the widget's settings and I've not seen any bugreports regarding this problem in the akonadi / pim / plasma bugtracker queues as well as manjaro / openSUSE bugtrackers, I suspect it to be a packaging issue specific to neon. So I filed a bugreport: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365765 Best regards, Martin |

I had asked this question some time ago, and I was anwered that "It will require Applications 16.08 (coming out in August) in order to work":
viewtopic.php?f=309&t=133515 Frankly, I don't understand why this feature, which works successfully in openSUSE Leap with Argon repos since June 3 (with Applications 16.07.70) should be awated right up to Applications 16.08 release in August in UNSTABLE developers' branch of Neon. For me it is crucial Plasma feature which is absolute necessary for normal work. |

Hi,
Because the neon maintainers are in the Process of creating a complete and stable (mostly) automated process for building Packages for stable as well as testing releases of KDE Software. That process takes some time to complete and is yet far from being finished from what I can tell. As you might have noticed, over time more and more packages appeared in the repos indicating progress in the task. Once it finished, you'll probably never have to ask this question again openSUSE is around much longer, so no wonder they have working automatisms for this in place.
I agree that the lack of easy access to calendar events is an inconvenience. Also, with all due respect, keep in mind that this is a community-based open source project. People put a lot of hard work and their spare time in it and the day has only 24 hours. Some things take their time to get done. Best regards, Martin |
