The purpose of KDE Neon is to provide the latest stable releases of KDE software. If you want to use their LTS versions, you aren't supposed to install KDE Neon.

Yes, according to a recent comment on sebas blog, there should be a special flavour of NEON sticking with Plasma 5.8LTS, see:

I prefer to stay with the traditional version , which is more updated than the LTS 8)

Yep, while a Neon 5.8 LTS flavour would be nice for some folks who want it I'm sure, I too plan to stick to the regular "user edition" for latest stable features and releases like 5.9 and beyond, as they happen :)

Isn't that what Kubuntu is for? Seems to me that would run counter to the whole purpose of NEON, or at least as I understand it...
