Difference between KDE Neon .isos

Thu Aug 18, 2016 12:48 pm
Hi,

Can someone please explain whats the difference between neon-useredition-20160818-1018-amd64.iso and neon-useredition-current.iso (with the same date)?

Thank you

The 'current' file is usually a symlink to the latest release.

It is usually done when you have all isos in the same directory so that people do not eed to compare the versioning part of the file name in order to get the latest release. Now, here it does not make much sense since there is only one iso release in the directory.

Here it's done to have a stable link. The directory itself has a -current symlink, and the iso has a symlink giving you a fully stable download path

http://files.kde.org/neon/images/neon-u ... mirrorlist

While the actual path changes daily.

Annoyed with bbcode since 1999.
