Hi!
I just decided to switch from Windows to KDE Neon and I'm having some serious problems getting this installed... I'm trying to install it on my Asus N551VW which is a intel skylake laptop, the problem I am having: The installer will NOT install grub, it always fails with "Failed to install grub to /target" and when I press OK the installer just crashes... looking at the ubuntu installer, it does quite a bit more stuff after install grub so it didn't do any of that. Just to be clear, EFI is enabled, Launch CSM is enabled, FastBoot is disabled, SecureBoot is also disabled, I am installing KDE Neon with 2 partitions. The first partition: 400MB EFI Partition as Fat32 Second Partition: Main KDE Install as EXT4. I tried to run boot-repair which seems to do something but ultimately gets stuck on "Purge and reinstall the GRUB of: sdb2 (fin)" or if I leave "Unhide Menu" enabled: "Unhide Boot Menu" Since my last usb drive died last week, I'm installing KDE from a partition on my second SSD to my main SSD but that shouldn't be a problem, right? I don't know what to do right now and I have no possibility to install another os (since I don't have a usb drive) and since I nuked my Windows 10 install to outer space, going back is not an option anymore... Can anyone help me with this? |
