No STARTTLS option in Kmail send

Sun Sep 11, 2016 7:24 pm
Hi
I started this in the KDE PIM subforum and was told to move it over here.

Basically, KDE PIM works fine except for an IMAP account that is particular to the college whereat I am an instructor.

It particularly requires STARTTLS in sending and also a different port number.

The different port number is not a problem, one merely types it in, but there is no "option / button " in advanced sending for STARTTLS.

Another poster in the original thread posted an image of what "should" be there but is not there for this user.

viewtopic.php?f=215&t=135797&p=363755#p363755

On poster mentioned that it not a "bug" but that it was something that just was left out from the package.

the particular INSTRUCTIONS from the college:

OUTGOING MAIL
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
Authentication: NTLM

the particular ERROR MESSAGE using "Auto Detect"
Failed to check capabilities. Please verify port and authentication mode.

Below is a "cross paste" from the other thread, it is what I see only mine is in english:

So, anyway, I reposted here. :)

Even thought the opinion is that SSL works, the security options of SSL or TLS is not accepted at the college so I thought I'd bump this.
