It's not a trick, Neon does not know where his avatar, must specify.
Maui knows where the avatar if it is in .png format. Example settings is from ARCH help. ![]() |

I just installed KDE neon with plasma 5.9. Long story, but bottom line, I can not set up user avatar for ssdm to use in login screen.
There is no /etc/sddm.conf, should I make that config file? In kde menu there is my profile picture. In logout/power off menu from kde, there is also my profile picture, but when restart system, there is no profile picture. |

Yes, just like alideda said.
Works for me for KDE Neon 5.9.

OK, I added sddm.conf and changed to match my home dir and now works fine. Thanks

Is there a way to achieve this if you have more than just one user?
By the way, what was wrong with the old sddm login to change it into this state? |

I know this is an old thread, but FWIW I was able to get my icon on the login page simply by adding the image to /usr/share/sddm/faces/ and renaming it [myusername].face.icon.
In other words, if your user name is 'bob', you would rename the image to bob.face.icon |
