Hi, as the title describes, my system freezes after some time (mostly ~ 20 - 40 seconds) on my PC with NVIDIA GPU. I also use KDE Neon on my other PC with AMD GPU, but the problem is only with the NVIDIA one. After the freeze, I can still move my cursor.

Hardware:
GPU: GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost
Ram: 16 GB DDR3
CPU: i5-4590

All the other DEs I tryed worked (MATE, Cinnamon, GNOME, Xfce).
This is not a problem with KDE Neon! (But this seems to be the best forum for this) I also tryed Arch with KDE and OpenSuse. Both have the same problem. Both have no freezes with other desktop environments.

What I have already tryed:

- Pressing Ctrl + Alt + F1
-> no console, still freezed
-> Also Ctrl + Alt + F2 ... doesn't work

- Install the NVIDIA drivers (I also tryed 370 version from https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers ... ubuntu/ppa)
-> still freezes after some seconds

- reinstalled (but since this is not a problem of kde neon directly, this also not solved the problem)

Note: A solution without installing the nvidia drivers would be perfect, because I also use KDE on Antergos (Arch) on my portable-USB-Linux and this should also work on this PC without freezes and without installing the NVIDIA driver since this is a bad idea on a portable system.

Hi, I am having the same problem,

I also have Nvidia GPU.... Its frustrating as I have only ever used KDE(by choice after trying most other desktops) but since plasma 5 was introduced I cannot use it...

All other distros I have tried that are KDE give me the same problem. I boot from live USB and after anything from 20 seconds to 1 minute my desktop freezes.

CTRL ALT DEL has no effect, CTRL ALT F12 or backspace has no effect. The mouse curser moves via mouse movement but nothing on the screen is usable/clickable.

I have to re-boot my system. I have not been able to keep system running long enough to try to install it.

These are my system spec: Any help much appreciated:
