On both my systems with KDE NEON installed (intel Graphics) I've noticed increasingly severe problems with jittery text, multiple cursors in libreoffice, and text blocks jumping up or down in LO and browsers. Is this a KDE QT problem or an Ubuntu/Intel problem? I love NEON, but it's getting so that libreoffice, among other apps, is unusable. I'm considering switching to Linux Mint/Cinnamon in the hopes that a GTK based DE might improve things, or am I wrong?

Within an hour or two of giving up on KDE/PLasma and installing Mint, I may have found the source of the problem. Give it a day or two but, for the next person, the solution might be:
From here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1450228 Which got it from here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/766725/ ... 226#814226 So far, I haven't suffered any of the severe flickering and jumping text that usually plagues browsing and Libre Office. I found this potential solution by Googling <Plasma Intel Bug>. |
