Qupzilla "aims to be a lightweight web browser available through all major platforms".
It is not packaged by Neon, and it comes from Ubuntu's Universe component, which means it was not created or maintained by them, and in fact was directly imported from Debian. The changelog points to this bug which shows that these small dependencies were added so that passwords can be stored in non-KDE environments that use the gnome-keyring for this purpose. You may want to try a much, much newer version https://www.qupzilla.com/download

OK, some progress.
First, www.qupzilla.com doesn't provide newer builds - the 1.8.9 version is in the PPA still. But the version from PPA has no GNOME dependencies. Well, no GNOME (the good) and no V2(the sad). I shall wait until v2 without GNOME libs is ready in Ubuntu/Neon repos. |

As I had failed to notice and the OP pointed out, while the ppa does not have the keyring dependencies it is outdated or behind the current release a bit.

Have you tried those instructions yourself ? Have you read my previous post ? This what the author of Qupzilla http://blog.qupzilla.com/2016/03/qupzilla-200-released-with-qtwebengine.html says about the v2:
So, a) no v2 builds from www.qupzilla.com and b) no v2 in the Ubuntu PPA for KDE Neon which is Ubuntu 16.04-based. The question "where do I get qupzilla v2 for KDE Neon ?" is still open. |
