I installed the new 24-Nov-2016 11:44 KDE Neon ISO user edition with the option that it erases and uses the whole drive. Installation made no problems at all. after restart it gets stuck in the gnu grub command line.
![]() couldn´t find a linkt to the slighter older version of the iso. if anyone finds one, much appreciated ![]() |

@misswham can you tell me what iso version you used.
what language did you choose at the installation? did you tick the opiton to download updates during installation and to install third party software? What option did you choose on how and where to install on the hard drive? thanks in advance |

Just tried to install it again. still the same problem. was a new user edition iso download forum the kde neon homepage.
what i saw while searching through the bios, and the boot options is, that it generated 2 different boot options. one for ubuntu and one for kde neon.... kde neon gets you only into the command line and ubuntu does nothing. i think that is the problem. i searched the internet for a bit and found out that a former kde neon iso had the same problem with generating two incorrect boot options instead of one and people couldn´t boot then either. i hope this will get fixed. until then i have to go with linux mint 18 kde or kubuntu. both work fine. sadly its not possible to download a former iso version of kde neon, because they replace the iso´s immediatly. they really should think about letting a few former iso´s on the server, just in case something like this happens again. i dont mind having to update a little bit longer if i can get into my distro at least ![]() i hope they will fix this soon. best linux distro ever imo. love kde/plasma |

i have found a work around
viewtopic.php?f=309&t=134976&p=361816#p361816 but most likely instead of sda2 its sda1, you can use gparted or partitionmanager to figure it where your efi is

I had the same issue. I destroyed my Fedora 25 install and tried a fresh F25 install but I couldn't get a GUI at all (thanks Nvidia), just a black screen. I had your issue with Neon but I need an OS now, so went back to Fedora 24. Glad(?) to know it isn't just my computer, I was about to THROW IT ON THE GROUND.

O.k.,
again and again. installed with full update during install, choosed the same bootloader my high sierra uses, still no luck. Dead end into the Grub..... Tried the Grub fixes via terminal as well...., no go.. Had an Ubunto installed before on that Partition and that was no problem. Just didn't like to have all my keystrokes submittet to Amazon, that's why I am trying to get Neon installed. Anybody here ever succeeded installing on a Macbook? Cheers |

I have a macBook pro 13" retina 2015.
I have succefully install Neon user on it. I would suggest to use the calamares installer which is able to suggest the correct partitions for installation. If I remember the Dev unstable edition calamares. Then you can come back to Neon user using the partitions of the dev edition. An other way is to use Maui to partition the disk. I have actually : a fat 32 /boot/efi with a flag esp (100 Mo) / ext4 (30Gio) /swap (4Gio) /home ext4 (200 Gio) Hope that help. |

Went back to the install Ubuntu site and realized that I could zoom in onto the screenshot showing the disc partitions. I had choosen the wrong filesystem.... several times that is..... Now it;s all running smoothly with EFI boot... Thanks a lot for your help Cheers |
