Could anyone please help me to install the amdpro gpu drivers for the rx480? I tried their official method (officially supported for ubuntu 16.04) I figured that if the kernel for neon was on the ubuntu lts kernel that i could install so i tried the official method and it tells me unsupported os. I can't find any guides on this either which is kinda upsetting because I love kde neon. i used it on my old hp laptop and now that i have a newly built machine I wanted to install this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
[EDIT::] i managed to fix my problem by accident by looking through the code in the run script and saw that if my system didn't identify as Ubuntu it would stop the install completely and by changing it to neon it installed perfectly for me. Everything seems much better and i am not stuck in at a 1024 res now. |

zotte - what GPU model do you have? if it is a newer one like the RX 460 (same as the one I have) maybe open source amdgpu driver does not yet supported in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS kernel 4.4 series. Next update to 16.04.2 base should bring new 4.8 kernel and Xorg server which works - I know because I updated to pre-release 4.8 kernel and Xorg edgers PPA - just using open source amdgpu driver and NOT the PRO driver yet.
