Hi,
I got a similar problem this morning when doing a fresh reinstall of my OS. Then I just wanted to install kde-baseapps. See what happens. I downloaded this iso file: neon-useredition-20161215-1019-amd64.iso

Unsure why you want to install kde-baseapps.
Neon-desktop pulls in all the packages that are up to date and built to run on Neon. Kde-baseapps pulls in packages that are not Neon aware. Some, eg Konqueror, are not maintained, I understand and thus unlikely to be updated to work on Neon using kf5/qt5. |

I got the same problem, and when I restarted I got the following message:
BusyBox v1.22.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.22.0-15ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for list of built-in commands. (intitramfs) Also, my computer is encrypted. So I restarted with the advanced option, and used the 4.4.0.53 kernel and was able to login. Then through Synaptic I removed the kernel 4.4.0.57 entirely, and everything is working fine now. So evidently there is a problem with the new kernel 4.4.0.57! |

at the german subforum https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=204&t=137792&p=369176#p369176 i got the solution through what wolfi323 suggested:
So i did: ->uninstall kde-baseapps-bin ->apt full-upgrade: ran smoothly and installed all packages that had been kept before ->reboot ->apt autoremove: removed kde-baseapps-data Everything fine again ![]()

You have Kubuntu staging ppa on your neon system. The staging ppa is for pre-release packages not ready for or intended for production, and likely are causing conflicts with neon packages. You should not use any Kubuntu ppas in neon for this reason. There will be variations in packaging between the two. Usually Neon will be ahead of Kubuntu in terms of current software versions, so this sort of thing won't always happen, but sometimes it might rear it's head.

So this morning I went on the IRC #kde-neon channel and asked what about kde-baseapps when installing a fresh vanilla kde neon iso, because of the error message we get. Here is a nice answer.
So as I wanted to install many KDE apps, someone suggested me to install the package:
And this is exactly what I was looking for. Hope it will help someone else. Best. |

I installed KDE NEON just now & when i updated it total 3mb worth of data was fetched which raised my brow. Then i discovered that KDE vanilla is default install of the .iso image. So after browsing i stumbled on to this thread now i am downloading 'neon-all' for all the KDE apps and othe nitty-gritty piece of software. Hope it ends all. |
