Following the info here: http://jriddell.org/2017/01/09/plasma-wayland-iso/ I downloaded and installed Plasma-Wayland from the iso 20170110-2117.

All is working well, but after a regular 'apt upgrade' I notice that the system reverted to kwin-x11, how do I change that to kwin-wayland?

I was not familiar with the SDDM display manager and overlooked a small menu in the bottom left corner.
That menu lets me select plasma on Wayland.
