First of all my hard drive is encrypted, and I just updated my computer to Plasma 5.8.5, and Kernel 4.4.0-59. Now my computer won’t boot. It gets stuck at the KDE gear, where you normally get to enter the encryption key password.
"BusyBox v1.22.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.22.0-15ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash) Enter ‘Help’ for a list of built-in commands." Then when you type help you get he following message: "alias break cd chdir comand continue echo eval exec exit export false getopts hash help history let local printf pwd read readlonly return set shift test times trap true type ulimit unmask unalias unset wail [ [[ acpid ash awk basename blockdev cat chmod chroot chvt clear cmp cp cut deallocvt dcvncn df dnsdona inname du dumpkmap echo cgrcp cnv expr false fbset fdflush fgrep find fstrim grep gunzip gzip hostname hwclock ifconfig ip kill in loadfront loadkamp ls lzop lzopcat mkkir nkfifo nknod nkswap mktemp modifo more mount nv openvt pidof printf ps pwd readlink reset rm rmdir scd scq sctkeycodes sh sleep sort stat static-sh stty switch_root sync tail tcc test touch tr true tty unmount uname unizop wc wget which yes zcat (initramfs)" I have no idea what this means, and took a picture, and typed the message. I'm sure there are a few errors, because it was difficult to see clearly. I logged back in via the advanced mode and the kernel 4.4.0-57. Then I removed the kernel 4.4.0-59. Now it boots just fine. I thought This is supposed to be a LTS stable version? Evidently there is an issue with the encryption, and new updated kernel. Any idea or suggestion? Also this has happened to me previously before on another computer with the same problem . Please help developers…. Any ideas or suggestions? |
