Same here...KinfoCenter reports I'm running Ubuntu 5.9

On top of this I was getting some crashes in Plasma 5.9 and Updates was complaining about appstream not being installed properly. Also under System Settings, Desktop Behaviour, making changes and saving would cause the settings app to crash.

All of this was too unstable for me...this is my desktop and I need stability, and I don't want to be a guinea pig on my everyday desktop. So now I went back and installed KDE User LTS with Plasma 5.8.5 yesterday. Uptime shows 27 hours and no hiccups, and I've been pushing it hard to error. This is much better for me.

Same problem happened to me today... Hopefully it will be fixed soon, just made the updates in hope it would fix the other annoying bug and now everywhere is Ubuntu...

I'm resetting this topic as UNSOLVED, again.
No green check mark, again.

Ubuntu's package 'base-files' once again overwritten
by KDE Neon update. Data seemingly correct again.

But cannot be marked as 'Solved', because next time
it's Ubuntu's turn again.

No Green Check Mark.
