I had installed KDE Neon User Edition and used it since May 2016, with all updates until last week.
Now, it was deleted, and I have downloaded a new ISO, checked 256sum, but DVD and USB media do not load live session. It falls into blinking tty. I have tried KDE Neon User LTS too, and it does not load. Always, blinking tty. Some ideas? |

Have you tried just typing live [enter key] to start the live session? I had that problem with Kubuntu a couple of times... |

Thank you. I will try this. Today I have installed (without Try Live session), and installation has finished apparently Ok. But when I tried to load installed KDE Neon, occurred the same thing: - Only tty black screen. |

With DVD (not with Pendrive), it loads screen "Try or Install", and so I have installed User Edition LTS 20170322 today. After install, Grub (under control of openSUSE) also loads a blinking tty black screen. Then I have tried Recovery mode + Resume (no other action), and finally loaded KDE Neon User LTS. I have also tried Grub, "e" to edit, "quiet splash nomodeset" (or "nomodeset quiet splash"), and nothing more at this line. -- CTRL-X to run edited Grub. -- This also loaded installed KDE Neon ok. Another idea, from Google+ KDE Neon Group: "I just "burned" the iso with unetbootin instead of rosa and it worked flawlessly, I could start the live session". |

I was running installed KDE Neon with Grub entry modified to "ro nomodeset $vt_handoff" (instead of "ro quiet splash $vt_handoff").
This week, finally this problem has been solved so: Commit Log for Wed Oct 11 21:20:34 2017 Removed: neon-desktop plasma-wayland-desktop xserver-xorg-video-intel-arbiter xserver-xorg-video-intel-native-modesetting Installed: libxvmc1 ... xserver-xorg-video-intel-hwe-... |

If you boot into tty, which should't occur by default, press Ctrl Alt F7. The issue is widely-documented.

Saying so, it seems to be simple. So I checked it ─ even if Neon is reinstalled some months ago and problem has been solved last week. Runned Live DVD again. At the Boot Menu, selected F2 (Lang) and also F6 (nomodeset). Blinking screen tty1 asking for User and Password. tty7 ok, stable screen Tried as User / Password: live / blank live / live live / neon neon / live Now I see that I missed to try "neon / blank". The only post here about "neon live password" is this: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=309&t=138814&start=15&hilit=neon+live+password May be, some day I will try this. Only to see. By now, I am happy to get installed KDE Neon again since last March, ─ same hardware as 2 previous nice Live & Install on 2016 April, ─ and to have finally solved this issue by replacing old package to "hwe" last week. Thank you. |
