DSL-PPPoE?

Tue Apr 25, 2017 11:02 am
Hi,

I connect to the internet directly via cable (broadband via fiber optics) and I do not use a router. Yeah, I know about "pppoe" and "pppoeconf". Neither comes with Neon by default. I know how to install those and I can make it work. That's not the issue.

The issues are:
1. If I set up DSL PPPoE by making use of "pppoe" and "pppoeconf" packages, Discover dies (it populates but if I try to install anything from it, it says: no connection detected.
2. I would like DSL PPPoE from the network manager and it gives you that option but it just doesn't work. Why? Please don't say: "use a router", cause that's not the issue.

Thank you

There was a similar issue on the forum last year. The guy never got an answer.
