I have searched for the phrase "qsynth"in the directory ~/.config:
$ grep -Ril "qsynth" /home/peer/.config
If found two interesting files: ksmserverrc and systemsettingsrc

Here is the file ksmserverrc:
It contains the line:
program3=/usr/bin/qsynth and
restartCommand3=/usr/bin/qsynth,-session,104e656f6e000149292742100000015030007_1493532091_129219

I think the solution must be in one of these two files (or both?).
Can you confirm this????

I think, You're totally on the right track.

Try this next:

Press Alt+SPACE or Alt-F2 and enter 'desktop session'.

Either start with empty session
or exclude qsynth.

See what happens after Logout/Login.

It is good to hear that I am on the right track. Thank you NoNameNoBlame!!

When I press Alt+SPACE or Alt-F2 the search field shows at the top of the screen. When I enter 'desktop session' nothing happens.

Another way:

systemsettings - workspace - startupandshutdown - desktopsession

And from command line:

$ /usr/bin/kcmshell5 kcmsmserver

session settings were: 'restore last session"
I changed this to "start empty session"
Reboot: qsynth did not start.
I changed the settings back to 'restore last session"
Reboot: qsynth starts again.

That's the way session management is supposed to work .

I'd say: Problem solved.

Don't you agree?
