Probably just a dumb question. I've noticed two processes in KSysGuard: dnsmask (process ID: 1025) - nobody and rtkit-daemon (process ID: 1288) - rtkit. What are those, if I may?

A quick google search turns up http://www.thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/doc.html (suggesting dnsmasq is a networking assistant) and https://askubuntu.com/questions/48888/w ... -cpu#48956 (suggesting rtkit-daemon is a background process for managing real-time processes).

AFAIK, rtkit is mostly used/needed by pulseaudio.
I have neither of both installed here on openSUSE... ![]() (they are part of a default installation though) |
