I am having trouble loading the AMD Drivers according to the AMD instructions. Can anyone give me a step by step install instruction on this? I bought an AMD RX570 to replace an older NVIDIA 970 card because I thought that it would work better. Yes, it works because of the built in drivers in MESA, etc. But ---- I cannot get Steam to work. It seems that there is something that MESA does not provide that Steam needs. Fresh installs of Neon does not help. If I change back to my NVIDIA card and NVIDIA drivers, Steam works. Can someone help me with a driver install of AMD drivers? I have extracted the files and have tried to follow install directions, but Discover says I am missing a dependency. Thanks very much. I am eager to learn something new.

you have to test mesa 17 and other open graphics drivers and kernel 4.11 manually.
mesa ppa: https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/u ... cs-drivers kernel 4.11: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ (its your own risk) at least try kubuntu 17.04 too. |
