I'm using neon LTS 5.8

In KWrite, shift+home and shift+end work as I hope/expect, selecting from the cursor position to the start/end of line respectively

But in the URL address bar in both Chrome and Firefox, it doesn't work. (Nor does it work in this rich text box as I type, in Chrome)

Nor in Eclipse IDE v4.6.3.

Is there a way to define/re-define these key combos?

thanks .. Jason

Some more findings:

- Firefox & Eclipse: Shift+Home and Shift+End work in Eclipse and Firefox, provided I have the numlock key on (!)
- Chrome: the numlock key doesn't help

Firefox and Chrome behaviour is the same in neon LTS 5.8, and OpenSUSE 42.3. I haven't tested Eclipse on OpenSUSE.
