This is weird. Sometimes when I turn on the machine, it boots into a black screen with a blinking cursor up in the upper left of the screen as follows:

KDE Neon 5.10 <mycomputername> tty1
<mycomputername> login: _


Doing a control/alt/delete sometimes gets me to a desktop, sometimes not and before I reloaded Neon again from scratch last time, it wouldn't go to the desktop at all, leading me back repeatedly to the login:_

I'm getting a little sick of reloading the OS every time something like this crops up on a 2400$ System76 machine. Would any of you users out there have some notion what is going on here? Would appreciate it immensely.

What edition is this?

It's the USER edition. The LTS is 5.8, I've got the current Plasma desktop 5.10.1.

I was actually wondering if you were on dev-stable or user, given the plasma version you stated.
