Yesterday I have found that the last updates in both User and Developers Unstable editions of Neon propose to uninstall the gdebi-kde package.

Use QApt instead. It's a native application on KDE:

I know about it, but I don't like it. And I suppose, that it should be matter of user's free choice rather then obligatory one. |

gdebi is not something Neon packages or maintains, as it is not created or maintained by KDE. It is something not in Neon's control, really.

But Neon is based on Ubuntu, and gdebi-kde is a standard Ubuntu software, using the standard python functions. If some standard commonly used software breaks after python upgrade, it means that the upgrade is not completely correct. In essence, my question is: what this unfortunate python upgrade is aimed for, and can I just safely skip it? |
