Recently I decided to try KDE Neon again. I tried KDE Neon in the past and had too many problems with my hard drive, but I decided now to try KDE Neon again because I really like KDE.
I have Nvidia GeForce GT 630m hybrid graphics. At first everything seem to work fine until I installed Nvidia driver. What I did: I installed Nvidia driver with the command (of course I checked that Nvidia card is recognized by the system before)
At first everything worked fine KDE was crashing from time to time though. Until one day my system didn't boot up I was just getting black screen couldn't even go to tty session I had to cut the power in order to shutdown. Finlay I managed to boot into tty through the recovery mode and changed Nvidia Prime to Intel and managed to boot up. The weird thing is that if I purge Nvidia driver I'm getting the same black screen. What I have tried I tried to purge Nvidia driver and install again (as a mentioned for some reason my laptop can't boot up without Nvidia driver) I tried this solution from Ubuntu forum to delete the alternatives with the command:
But it didn't help I was getting the same black screen when Nvidia Prime is set to Nvidia. It seem that when Nivdia card is on opengl is disable. is anyone know how can I make Nvidia card to work in KDE Neon? |
